This site is an exhibit of the art of Jennifer Shuey.
Jennifer is the Executive Director of ClearWater Conservancy and a native of Centre County, PA. A graduate of Bellefonte High School, with a B. S. of Landscape Architecture from Penn State University, Jennifer is committed to using her time and talents to make her community a better place. She is particularly interested in conserving the beautiful natural landscapes of central Pennsylvania and engaging more people in the protection of land and water resources.
Jennifer's more recent entrance into the community of artists in the Centre Region started with an oil painting class by Jennifer Kane (www.jenniferkaneart.com) through the Art Alliance of Central Pennsylvania. At an artist's retreat at Hameau Farm (www.hameaufarm.com), Jennifer borrowed some pastels from Susan Nicholas Gephart (www.snicholasart.com), experimented with this new medium, and fell in love with its ability to quickly capture the beauty and character of the natural landscape. Pastels are vibrant and spontaneous and working with them gives Jennifer an almost meditative creative outlet that is a good counter balance with her work at ClearWater Conservancy.
Jennifer is a member of the Art Alliance of Central Pennsylvania and the Central Pennsylvania Pastel Society. Recent exhibitions of Jennifer's work have been found at The Gamble Mill, the HUB Robeson Center on the Penn State campus, and of course, the Grange Fair.
Jennifer believes in giving back to other non-profit and community organizations. She has donted paintings for silent auctions to the following groups: ClearWater Conservancy, Millbrook Marsh Nature Center, Altrusa International of Centre County, Centre County P.A.W.S., and the State College Friends School.
